Beckett's class spent the day on a field trip to Zoo Atlanta and I was a chaperone. Our group was very chatty. And knowledgable. And bossy.
Each group was assigned a creature. We were supposed to seek out, study, and learn three facts about tarantulas.
Beckett, Gavin and Andonia look at the map. Where is the arachnid section of this zoo?
The kids were begging to head straight for the reptile house (where we thought we'd find spiders) but we had FIVE hours at the zoo. So we detoured to the African animals.
Gavin and Beckett read about apes.
Andonia "pets" Lion Cub Beckett.
The search for the reptile house continued. Fortunately, we wasted time took a spin around the Living Treehouse to learn about birds. (Five hours of walking. Five hours of kids talking. Five hours of one medium-sized zoo is too many hours. Mama needed a break after this!)
The kids pretended to flap like birds in this oversized nest.
